Our Story

The Vanderhoof International Airshow is a high-flying celebration of aviation, community, and northern spirit. Held in the heart of British Columbia, our airshow brings together aviation enthusiasts, families, and thrill-seekers for a spectacular day of aerial acrobatics, historic aircraft, and unforgettable entertainment.

Founded and operated by the dedicated volunteers of the Vanderhoof Airshow Society, our event has become a cherished tradition that showcases both the power of flight and the strength of community. From vintage warbirds to cutting-edge aerobatic performers, we curate a lineup that spans generations and ignites imaginations.

After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, the airshow returned triumphantly in 2022, drawing thousands of spectators and reaffirming its place as a cornerstone of summer in Vanderhoof. Our success is built on the unwavering support of local businesses, volunteers, and aviation partners who believe in the magic of flight and the importance of bringing people together.

In 2024, we introduced the *Masters of the Air Exhibition*, a fresh take on our traditional format that included a stop in Prince George and featured iconic aircraft like the B-17 Flying Fortress and P-51D Mustang. This evolution reflects our commitment to innovation while staying true to our roots.

Our board is comprised of people from our community who want to be more than a volunteer, but one who starts making decisions for the Vanderhoof Air Show Society. Board members do not need to be experienced as you are one of a group and will learn how a board functions by being apart. If you are looking for a challenging position, are willing to commit to a little extra hard work, you may be the person we are looking for.
